Bet on Brazilian football

This week-end, two matches will be especially interesting in the “Brasileiro” – the Brazilian Championship: the Rio de Janeiro derby Botafogo-Vasco de Gama, and the game opposing Sport Recife to Fluminense.

The first one because every “classico” has always a particular taste… Even if it has been said that the Lone Star – nickname of Botafogo, will give the priority to the second-leg of Copa do Brasil next Wednesday, their coach Cuca reminded that “winning all the games at home is necessary if Botafogo want to do a good season”. Therefore it is likely that most of the regular team will play like the strikers Jorge Henrique and Wellington Paulista. Vasco de Gama also has a match for the Copa do Brasil next week. After their defeat against Recife, they will want to prepare the second-leg match by scoring at the Engenhao Stadium. As the draw odds are interesting (11/5), betting on this result seems to be the best deal.

The second one because both teams have been really successful this week: by eliminating Sao Paulo, Fluminense is the only Brazilian team to accede to the semi-final of the Copa Libertadores, while Sport Recife has clearly beaten Vasco de Gama (2-0) in the first-leg of the Copa do Brasil. Sport Recife are a really good team when playing at home whereas Fluminense have difficulties away. Therefore betting on the victory of Recife (odds of 21/20) is the most reasonable bet.
