Fancy a bet on a hole in one at Valhalla?

The 37th Ryder Cup gets underway next week and we will be carrying a huge range of bets. It is one of those classic confrotnations between Europe and America, this year at the Valhalla Golf Club, Louisville, Kentucky, with the United States looking to record their first tournament victory over Europe since 1999.

But you can have an early tester with a bet on anyone to score a hole in one - 7/2 says, 4/25 says no. What do you think?

Hurricane Gustav crashes into casino!

The remote link to Costa Rica for some of our casino games was interrupted briefly by the battering of Hurricane Gustav…but even a hurricane does not stop us for long.

Super Saturday - Berbatov v Liverpool, Robinho v Scolari

Here we go! Saturday sees the real business of the Premier League back on the agenda with two classic confrontations. The £30million Dimitar Berbatov makes his debut for Manchester United at, of all places, Anfield against Liverpool. And if that is not enough the late kick off sees Chelsea travelling to Manchester City to face the Brazilian who eluded them in Robinho who cost a cool £32million paired with old boy Shaun Wright-Phillips. How will Big Phil Scolari respond? How will Mark Hughes line up his team?

The two managerless teams Newcastle and West Ham face promoted Hull and West Bromwich Albion respectively. Interesting stuff. Banana skins all round?

Great bets - the Yankee. Try one on World Cup qualifiers

Yankee is one of those legendary complex bets that can magically work out like a royal flush in poker, but has a certain caution to it at the same time. The odds may be long but the stakes can be low. In reality it is four bets in 11 combinations. That is six doubles, four trebles and one accumulator for four correct results. Just pick four teams to win on the multiple bets column and the option appears underneath on the right hand column.

Wednesday’s World Cup qualifiers is a good example of how it can work. Say you fancy a bet on Russia, Azerbaijan, Northern Ireland and England all to win. If they all come up then £1 pays 26.50. But you can hedge your bets with a Yankee so an £11 bet pays £118.57. You win more money, but your risks is also contained. Or

Try a Home Countries Yankee - £11 pays a possible £876

Bet on a giantkilling - good odds and a good chance of a result

Hartlepool’s Dave Foley secores his side’s second goal against West Bromwich Albion. The Carling Cup is good hunting ground for gamblers. The odds are as long as the form suggests they ought to be, but as this week’s results showed even Premier League opposition can be humbled. West Ham and Sunderland both needed extra time. Bolton could not get that far and went out. Fulham went to injury time before beating Leicester. The omens are there for the next round

Bet live on tennis tonight

There is interesting betting live on the tennis in New York, especially as the timing fits the UK clock with matches starting from four and running to midnight. Live tennis betting is fast and furious and can be lucrative if you notch up some accumulated bets on a player having a good or bad run. Give it a try here. The lady in the picture is Britain’s own Anne Keothavong from Hackney (via south east asia) who takes on the Olympic champion Elena Demetieva. She is cute odds if she can catch the Russian on one of her bad days.

How to bet on Formula 1 (and win)

Bet Lewis Hamilton

The European Grand Prix held, appropriately in this year of Spanish successes, to be heldin Valencia on Sunday, is probably the defining moment of the season. Maclaren have edged ahead and in the short break since Hungary Ferrari and BMW have had a chance sort out their problems and get back on track. Valencia will show how far they are going to be competitive for the rest of the season. Lewis Hamilton is short odds to win at 5/4.

But as we saw and predicted in Hungary there is potentially another driver in the mix in his team mate Heikki Kovalainen who has the speed and the same car to take the opportunity if Lewis slips up. And he is a very cute 10/1. Get all the F1 odds here

Olympic soccer final - can Messi make a mess of Nigeria or will the Africans have too much argie for the Argies?

Lionel Messi consoles former team mate Ronaldinho

The Argentines look like a class soccer act inspired by the brilliance of Lionel Messi and validated by their trouncing of Brazil in the semi-finals, but Nigeria are reborn post the African National Cup and could have the muscle to push them out of the game, if the referee lets them which on the semi final evidence he may not. In the 1899 Hoffenheim striker Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi they seem to have unearthed a potential new star. Nigeria are goods odds to cause an upset.
